Tanzie Youngblood

New Jersey - District 2

Tanzie is a longtime resident of Woolwich, NJ and a public servant who has dedicated her life to education and expanding opportunities for children.  Tanzie was a school teacher for more than 30 years while her husband worked as a postal worker for more than 25 years. Together, they raised two successful boys who were able to go to college, serve in the military, and get jobs in the communities where they grew up. Today, as a widow and a Blue Star Mother, Tanzie understands the challenges military families face.

Tanzie will fight for rural and working families. She will fight for middle class men and women whose own personal economy has been stagnant for 50 years. She will focus on pocketbook issues, like stagnant wages, not status quo politics.  She will work to implement a livable wage for all workers, attract investment in innovation, manufacturing and STEM to the district. She will also promote a foreign policy agenda that is grounded in strength, relationships with our allies, and diplomacy.

Tanzie has been on the front lines of comprehensive school reform, leadership training, data analysis and implementation, and, most notably, curriculum development. With more than 30 years of experience inside the classroom, Tanzie has brought teachers, parents, and school leaders together to solve problems for some of the most vulnerable children in the community. She is committed to leveraging those problem-solving skills in congress to help create opportunities for the people of New Jersey.
