BROOKLYN (September 24, 2024) – Higher Heights for America PAC, a political action committee dedicated to electing more Black women to public office, has officially announced its endorsement of Dr. Valerie McCray for U.S. Senator of Indiana.
Dr. Valerie McCray brings 35 years of experience in the field of psychology, having served as a licensed Psychologist for 25 years. In doing so, she has done the hard and necessary work of listening to the people of Indiana with some of the most critical needs, from veterans struggling with PTSD to incarcerated individuals in need of support and rehabilitation to youth struggling to combat the effects of violence on their lives.
“In this election cycle, we have an opportunity to make history in the U.S. Senate. We’ve only ever had three Black women in the Senate, and never more than one serving at the same time. By electing Dr. McCray, Indiana voters have the opportunity to ensure that all Black women will have a voice in the upper chamber and to elect someone who is ready to address the issues contributing to our nation’s mental health crisis,” said Glynda C. Carr, President, and CEO of Higher Heights PAC. “Black women have made the margins of victory in red and blue states, and that has never been more true than it is at this moment. We’re proud to support Dr. McCray in her run to represent our communities in the Senate because we know that she is ready to fight for the issues that impact us every day, including our reproductive rights, fair wages, civil rights, and more.”
