U.S. Senate Georgia

Tamara Johnson-Shealey is a Georgia native with deep family roots in Effingham County, Georgia. Born to a teenage mother, she has always had a determined spirit. She built a business as a nail salon owner for 10 years and worked as a Licensed Nail Technician for 18 years. In 2013, as Senior Advocate of Politics Beauty and Barber, she successfully advocated for the introduction of Georgia Senate Bill 64 to strengthen continuing education standards for licensed beauty professionals in Georgia. In 2018, she returned to school to pursue a Juris Master’s Degree at Emory University Law School and in 2019, was accepted as an Intern in the Public Health Law Program at the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
