Higher Heights for America PAC was proud to endorse Lavangelene “Vangie” Williams to represent Virginia’s 1st Congressional District. Despite losing in the June 2020 primaries, Williams emerged with a strong showing of 41.6 percent of the votes.

Vangie is a wife, a mother of six daughters, a strategic planner and a professional problem solver. A real-world professional with 32 years of experience, Vangie’s career includes working in aerospace, construction, defense contracting, government operations, IT and national security. She is an active champion for the working class and her commitment to service is demonstrated through her work as a member of several organizations such as the League of Women Voters, NOW, LBGTQ Democrats, Sierra Club, NAACP and ACLU.

During her campaign, Vangie pledged to fight for criminal justice reform, affordable housing, access to a public insurance healthcare system, and access to reproductive services.

History shows that when Black women gain political power, we champion policies that benefit multiple communities.  Higher Heights for America PAC strongly encourages its members to support Vangie’s campaign with their time, talent and resources.
