Higher Heights for America, the only organization exclusively dedicated to electing more progressive Black women at all levels, announces its endorsement of Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick in Florida’s 20th Congressional District Special Election.

Cherfilus-McCormick is an executive, lawyer, philanthropist, mother and wife. And for the last 20 years, she has invested into building healthcare for Americans who need it most. While she’s not a career politician, her career in federal government started more than 10 years ago while advocating for healthcare reform on Capitol Hill. Cherfilus-McCormick is also a CEO of a healthcare company that provides home-based healthcare and vocational training.

Cherfilus-McCormick states she’s running for Congress because “our community has been suffering immensely from the lack of healthcare and economic opportunities. Now is the time to exercise political courage and put forth bold economic and healthcare policies for the people! I have the expertise and track record to move bold policies forward. My proven track record of political courage, job creation, building generational wealth and bringing healthcare into the community speaks to my ability to deliver results.”

Florida’s 20th Congressional District needs a leader like Cherfilus-McCormick, especially one who has their constituents’ best interests at heart.

“I am not a career politician. I am not seeking promotion or to further my career in politics, I am looking to serve and bring back Congressional District 20 to the attention of the United States and better the lives of those in my community. This is a rare opportunity to make a difference in the lives of so many, we need a change, and I will bring that change as your next congresswoman.
