Michigan State Senate District 5

Betty Jean Alexander assumed office on January 1, 2019. Her current term ends on January 1, 2023. Alexander, who served as an administrator in Wayne County, Michigan, ran for election to the Michigan State Senate to represent District 5, and won the general election on November 6, 2018. Alexander champions policies that increase minimum wage, ensure schools are properly funded, provide safe and affordable drinking water, and lower automobile insurance rates.
