Judge of the Cook County Circuit Court Illinois

Celestia L. Mays was appointed to the Circuit Court of Cook County Illinois Supreme Court. Currently, she is assigned to the Fourth District in Maywood where she presides over misdemeanor and traffic offenses. Prior to joining the bench, Mays was the principal of Celestia L. Mays, P.C., for over 22 years where her law practice concentrated in the areas of family law, probate law and residential real estate closings. Mays is a past president of the Cook County Bar Association (CCBA), and served as deputy regional director and treasurer for Region VII of the National Bar Association. Mays received her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy and her B.A. in Political Science and Communications from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
