Desiree Tims is a democratic strategist and consultant. She has deep roots in community engagement, political campaigns, and government affairs. Home of the Underground Railroad, southwest Ohio has never elected an African American to federal office. If elected, Desiree would be the first African-American, and the first African-American woman from southwest Ohio to hold federal office. In 2008, Desiree joined the Barack Obama presidential campaign as a volunteer in southwest Ohio. She worked her way up from a volunteer to an associate and White House intern during President Barack Obama’s first presidential term. Tims earned a B.A. in communications from Xavier University and a J.D. from Georgetown Law.
