U.S. House Illinois 14th Congressional District

Lauren Underwood, a nurse by profession, graduated from the University of Michigan and received a master’s degree in nursing from John Hopkins University. Prior to her election to Congress, Underwood worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a policy coordinator and then as a senior advisor. At the beginning of the 116th Congress, Underwood was assigned to the Committee on Education and the Workforce, the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and the Committee on Homeland Security.
