Higher Heights for America is proud to endorse Alissia Canady for Lieutenant Governor of Missouri.
Alissia is a small business owner, former city council member and former prosecuting attorney. Growing up on Kansas City’s East Side, Alissia learned the value of hard work. During high school she worked eight hours every day after class, and bought her first home at age 18.
In 2015, she was elected to the City Council of Kansas City Missouri, representing District 5. She chaired the Neighborhoods and Public Safety Committee and the Health Commission. Since then, she has returned to private law practice and continues to serve the community as the Chair of the Kansas City Tax Increment Financing Commission.
If elected Lt. Governor, Alissia will work to combat city violence, address health disparities and promote education and economic development.
The Lt. Governor serves on commissions that: advocate for senior citizens; appropriates funds to homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, transitional housing, emergency housing assistance, the development of low-income housing and rental assistance. The Lt. Governor appoints one member to the work groups of the state board of education.
A person of color has never been elected to statewide office in Missouri. The time is now to elect more Black women to be at decision-making tables to represent us. Higher Heights for America PAC strongly encourages its members to support Alissia’s campaign with their time, talent and resources.
