Linda Coleman was a candidate for North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House. Coleman lost the general election on November 6, 2018, after advancing from the primary on May 8, 2018.

Linda Coleman has an extensive history of public service and a record of standing up for the marginalized in the state of North Carolina.  As the former Chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, a three term member of the State House of Representatives and the Director of the Office of State Personnel, Coleman knows the challenges facing the people of North Carolina and understands that with proper leadership the middle class can not only survive but thrive.  Her unbought and unbossed leadership and commitment to expanding the middle class was proven early on in her career when, as a freshman State Representative, she held up the state budget to ensure that the hardworking state employees of North Carolina received a raise.

A proven progressive, Coleman has been a staunch advocate for women’s reproductive justice, properly funded public schools and voter protections.
