Higher Heights for America PAC is proud to stand beside Shontel Brown as we declare the race for Ohio’s 11th Congressional District a Race to Watch.

Shontel Brown is running to represent Ohio’s 11th Congressional District to continue to build on the work of the Honorable Marcia L. Fudge. She stands for affordable, quality health care, jobs that pay fair wages, a strong public education system, and equity and justice for all. As the only candidate running in the race with legislative experience during the pandemic, she will utilize her first-hand experiences to work with President Biden for swift health and economic recovery from the pandemic that works for Northeast Ohio.

During her time in office, she had the privilege of moving Cuyahoga County forward while addressing health disparities and other public issues in Northeast Ohio. This work successfully launched a countywide 911 text message system and declared racism a public health crisis. Additionally, while serving on County Council, she worked diligently to ensure minority-owned businesses receive their fair share of future contracts in Cuyahoga County.

Shontel Brown made history in 2017 when she was elected as the first woman and the first Black person to chair the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party. Since being elected, she has worked with communities to repeatedly deliver the state’s highest voter turnout during the midterm and presidential Elections.

In Washington, she will work collectively with the Biden-Harris Administration to address issues important to the people, including healthcare and COVID-19 recovery, workforce development and jobs, and justice. Additionally, she will continue the legacy of those who represented the district before me as a unifying leader who puts people first – not politics.
