Higher Heights for America PAC was proud to endorse State Senator Joyce Elliott to represent Arkansas’ 2nd Congressional District.

Joyce is known as someone that people can trust. She has represented the 31st District since 2009. She is the former majority leader and was previously a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2000 through 2006.  Named one of the “Ten Best Legislators” by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Joyce attributes her legislative skills to her 30 years as a teacher, where she effectively related to diverse groups of people and led them to positive outcomes.

She was the second person of color to graduate from her newly integrated high school. Her older sister, Carolyn, was the first. Joyce earned her B.A. from Southern Arkansas University and her M.A. from Ouachita Baptist University.

If elected, Joyce will advocate for access to affordable and quality health care, create policies that help minority families build and maintain wealth through progressive housing, education, and employment policy. She will support a living wage and address the gender pay gap. A proud union member, Joyce will continue to fight for the rights of workers to freely organize and collectively bargain.  Joyce is a mother and a grand-mother. She will be a strong supporter of public education and will work to expand students’ opportunities.  She will work to reform the judicial system and work to end over-aggressive policing.

The time is now to elect more Black women to be at decision-making tables to represent us.  Higher Heights for America PAC strongly encouraged its members to support Joyce’s campaign with their time, talent and resources.
