Higher Heights Celebrates Cherelle Parker’s Landmark Victory as First Woman Mayor of Philadelphia

The nation’s only political action committee exclusively dedicated to electing more progressive Black women endorsed and supported Parker’s historic run to become Philadelphia’s first Black woman Mayor.

BROOKLYN (November 7, 2023)This evening, Cherelle Parker declared a historic victory in the Philadelphia mayoral race, becoming the first Black woman and the first woman ever to be elected to lead the city, marking the city’s 100th Mayor. In celebration of Mayor-Elect Parker’s victory, Higher Heights for America PAC Vice President of Programs Eboni Taylor released the following statement: 

“I am delighted to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Cherelle Parker for her historic victory, underscoring the immense influence of Black women voters. When Black women succeed, we all benefit. Philadelphia has chosen an exceptional leader dedicated to propelling the city toward greater heights. Every day, Black women continue to shatter glass ceilings throughout the nation, and Higher Heights takes pride in supporting Cherelle on her journey to making history. We remain resolute in our commitment to promoting progressive Black women candidates across various government levels and eagerly anticipate the remarkable achievements she will accomplish during her tenure as Mayor.”
