Joyce Johnson is a veteran New York State political leader, and senior executive with a broad mix of experience, including private and nonprofit sectors, city government, and political campaigns. Joyce is a powerful voice and advocate for greater political awareness, civic education, community engagement, volunteer service, and voting. She is exceptional at problem-solving, strategizing and developing solutions to long-entrenched systemic challenges

Joyce is a former elected NYS Democratic Assembly District Leader, and ran for public office several times, including two congressional races in 2010 and 2012. In her 2010 congressional race she was endorsed by the New York Times.

She is a passionate advocate for electing more women to public office at all levels. Some of her past and current membership affiliations and work in this regard include: Higher Heights for America, Founders Circle, PAC member; Eleanor’s Legacy, board member; EMILY’S LIST, Majority Council, and National Women’s Political Caucus/Manhattan, Political Planning Vice Chair.

She has been staff on several high profile political campaigns, including NYS Field Director/Petition Coordinator, ‘07/’08 Obama for America; Downstate Field Director, Ferraro for U.S. Senate. She has served as delegate to the ’92 Democratic National Convention, and member, ’08 DNC Convention Platform Committee.

Joyce is proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc, and has served as Co-Chair, Social Action of her local chapter (NMAC). She holds a B.S. in Microbiology from Howard University, and a EEO Certification, from Cornell University, School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
