BROOKLYN (February 4, 2025) – Higher Heights for America, a national organization dedicated to expanding Black women’s political participation and elected representation, has officially announced its endorsement of Mayor Tishaura Jones in her bid for re-election as the Mayor of St. Louis, Missouri.

Today, Tishaura Jones serves the people of St. Louis as its Mayor, a position she has held since 2021. During her tenure, she has invested in a pilot guaranteed basic income program, street paving, traffic safety, small business grants and more programs that our communities need to be safe and prosperous. She has overseen a reduction in crime, with 2024 being the year with the lowest number of homicides since 2013. And she has outlined an ambitious plan to dedicate American Rescue Plan funding to work towards economic justice for all.

“Tishaura Jones is truly the People’s Mayor,” said Eboni Taylor, Vice President of Programs at Higher Heights for America. “She believes that you should have the opportunities and resources to succeed, no matter where in the city you call home – and it shows in her commitment to modernizing city services, tackling the root causes of crime and poverty, and utilizing American Rescue Plan resources to bridge the racial wealth gap. We are proud to endorse her to continue her barrier-breaking leadership as the Mayor of St. Louis.”
