The nation’s only political action committee exclusively dedicated to electing more progressive Black women endorsed and supported Stevenson’s historic run to become Kentucky’s first Black woman attorney general.

BROOKLYN (Nov. 7, 2023)Following a hard-fought, historic campaign, Colonel Pamela Stevenson has conceded her race to become the first Black woman to serve as attorney general of Kentucky. Higher Heights for America PAC Vice President of Programs, Eboni Taylor, released the following statement:

“While it is disheartening that Kentucky will not witness the election of its first Black woman attorney general this year, Higher Heights takes great pride in our endorsement and support for Col. Stevenson, who waged a hard-fought campaign. The results from yesterday may not have aligned with our initial hopes, but Col. Stevenson conducted an exceptional campaign, and we eagerly look forward to supporting her in her future endeavors. These outcomes underscore the crucial reality that Black women have consistently possessed qualifications, and in many cases, exceeded them, to serve in the political arena, yet, they have often encountered insufficient support to reach the finish line. Higher Heights PAC will persist in supporting exceptional candidates like Pam, ensuring they have the resources to run, win, and lead.”
